The Vote.gov Product Team is being recognized for significantly enhancing accessibility and equity in voter registration through expansive improvements to the vote.gov website. In response to the Executive Order on “Promoting Access to Voting,” the team expanded vote.gov to 17 languages, including Native American languages, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance through extensive usability testing. This effort aims to empower historically marginalized communities, people with disabilities, and those with limited English proficiency by providing clear voter guides and user-friendly tools.

A notable achievement is the development of an online form filler tool for the National Voter Registration Form, in collaboration with the Election Assistance Commission (EAC). This tool simplifies the registration process by customizing instructions based on the user’s state, enhancing accessibility features for voters with disabilities, and improving data validation to reduce errors for election workers. Scheduled for launch ahead of the 2024 presidential election, this tool is designed to streamline and expedite voter registration.
